The History of the CVIS Mini-THON
In November 2004, a fourth grader at NOE was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Her name is Heidi Miller. It is in her honor that we began having Mini-THON at CVIS! Once Heidi finished her cancer treatments, she decided that we needed to do something! Having been a Four Diamonds child and her family a Four Diamonds family, we decided that the best thing our school community could do for Heidi is to make it our mission to conquer pediatric cancer. We joined the fight in 2007 and have held a Mini-THON at CVIS every year since.
To date, the students, faculty, staff and volunteers at CVIS have raised over $177,581.98 to support the Four Diamonds Fund! We continue the fight every year with fundraising activities such as our annual CVIS Mini-THON 5k in November, restaurant nights and school-wide fundraising activities for our students.
