As the summer quickly winds down, let's kick off the CVSD Tech Tips by getting you up to speed on some of the tools you may be using. I have also included the Future of the Classroom which has a global report which is interesting. In addition, the site on which the Global report is listed has lots of additional resources for teachers. I hope everyone has had a chance to relax and that this CVSD tech tips will help you prepare to get back into the classroom for another successful year of learning for our students.
Future of the Classroom
As we have now embarked on the first rollout to students with others to follow, let's continue to think about how the classroom is changing and will continue to change. Here is a link to the Future of the Classroom. Google teamed up with a global team of researchers and analysts to examine evidence-based shifts taking place in the classroom around the world. Click here to see the Global Report. In addition, on this site you will see various tabs which will take you to many other resources including the Google training, which now includes digital citizenship. It's a great site, the information on the future of the classroom was very interesting.

,Above is an action code which you can use to join the ESL Schoology resource for teachers. The ESL department has provided numerous resources to you within this course. Please join and check it out. Remember that if a strategy works for an EL student it will also benefit a non-EL student, but a regular classroom strategy that benefits all students may not always work for an EL student. Your individual building ESL teachers will give you LIEPs for each of your EL students. These LIEPs are very beneficial in that they will provide you with the specific information about your EL student that will help him or her be successful in your classroom.

Schoology Edpuzzle Integration
The video below shows you how to integrate Edpuzzle into Schoology.
What's New in Schoology
Teachers can individually assign folders to students. This feature allows teachers to assign folders to specific students and grading groups so that only the assignees can view the folder and its contents. Any materials added to the folder are automatically updated to be available to the assigned student(s). Here is the link to learn more about this. https://support.schoology.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023281614-Individually-Assign-Folders .
Schoology also has some additional new features. Teachers can now grade by question for assessments and give partial credit for multiple choice. Click here to learn more about these new Schoology features.
Safe and Fun Messaging App for Kids
Messenger Kids is a free video calling and messaging app designed for kids. This app can help kids connect with close friends and family from their tablet or smartphone. Messenger Kids isn’t a social media app. This tool is all about messaging, and kids can only connect with parent-approved contacts. This is another great share from Monica Burns. Click here to learn more about this app.
