Time Machine

I am sharing a link to something called Time Machine.  It appears to be free.  There are some already created time machines, but better yet, you can create your own time machine.  I was thinking of a science experiment that might occur over multiple days for which you want to have a record.  Maybe in woodshop students are building a project and you want to record a digital record from start to ending.  Maybe in an art class a student wants to create a digital time machine of a portrait from beginning to end.  Here is the link so you can check it out, click here.

Checking for Parent Notifications in Skyward

Here is a screencast created by Linda Swift explaining how you can see if you have a notification from a parent and then how to access it so you can respond.

7 Great Google Add-ons for Teachers

Found  these add-ons in a recent Educational Technology Blog I follow. I know that some of them may already be familiar to you as they were me, but there were some with which I was not familiar.  I am sharing them all for those who may not be familiar with any of them.  Each image below links to the add-on when you click them.

Wayback Machine

This resource has been around for some time.  I know I have shared it previously, but recently found that there are still people who aren't aware it exists.  This resource is great for those times when you know you used a particular website that you can no longer find.  You can use the Wayback machine to put in the URL that you have for the site and it will let you go back to find the site.
Another great way to use this tool is if you are thinking about using a site and want to know if it is from a reputable source you can go back through the history of the site and see who created it and when.  You can look at how the site may have evolved from it's initial publishing to the most recent version.  A site that comes to mind that I have researched was one about Martin Luther King.  The current site looked reputable and a student could have mistaken it for valid, but there was much misinformation about Dr. King on it.  In researching the site I found that it was created by a member of the KKK and the original version of the site was all about misinformation and hatred.    Click here to try the Wayback  Machine.     It's easy to use.  You just go to the Wayback Machine site and type in the name of the site or the URL for which you want to search.

Ed Puzzle Update

Ed Puzzle now has special education as one of it's curricular categories.  Here is a screencast on how to get to the new materials. Click Here.  Ed Puzzle is so easy to use and now that we no longer have Discovery Education, Ed Puzzle is a tool that could connect you to video materials to assist instruction in your classroom.  www.edpuzzle.com

Creating Digital Products

I share various tools with individuals looking for specific resources on a regular basis.  Recently I received a request from a teacher for a tool that would allow her students to create a digital yearbook.  Here are a few resources that I shared, maybe you have a club or organization whose historian could also utilize these tools to create a digital record of your group.  As most tools do these days, there are numerous features that appear to be free on these digital designing sites, but each also has upgrade features which would require some expense should you choose to upgrade.  If you have found a free tool that allows you to create a digital memory book, please share it with me so that I can pass it along.
Flipbook - It appears to be a free way to share online, but I do see that there are some options to purchase a product called flip PDF.
Canva is another tool that allows for the creation of numerous digital products.  You can sign up for a free account that let's you create in Canva. There is a paid account that, as most do, gives you access to more resources and tools, but it looks like the free account would let you do a lot of designing with your own pictures.

PosterMyWall is another resource that allows users to create digital yearbooks.  Choose from a wide selection of templates, for any occasion, designed by PosterMyWall designers.  There are thousands of free stock photos available or you can upload your own images.  Upgrade with premium images for a small fee (or additional $2)
