GooseChase - Get Ready!  It's coming to R2R Tech Camp.

As I advertised, Goose Chase will be one of the activities going on at the R2R Camp.  Participants can work in pairs to complete the chase.  All who complete the activity will have their name entered into a drawing for a year's subscription to Goose Chase.

Participants can join Goose Chase by following these steps:
  1. Download the GooseChase iPhone or Android app.
  2. Register for a personal account with a username & password of their choice.
Closer to the start of Camp I will open the game up and provide additional instructions  so you can pair up with a co-worker and begin to complete the CVSD Safety Chase Activity.  You might be the lucky winner!

Check out this link to Goose Chase.  https://www.goosechase.com/ There is a free version, you can try, but it won't have all the bells and whistles the door prize version can give you.

Pennsylvania Computer Science for All Summit

As one of the fastest growing sectors in Pennsylvania’s economy, there are 18,000+ unfilled computer science jobs with an average salary of $80,000 and a projected growth of up to 26% annually. To help meet this career demand and fill the gap, Pennsylvania, under the leadership of Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary Pedro Rivera, is working to create and offer opportunities for every learner in computer science. Over the past year, more than 1,300 educators were trained to utilize computer science resources from Code.org, Pennsylvania’s State Board of Education voluntarily endorsed the Computer Science Teachers Association K-12 Computer Science Standards, and Governor Wolf become a leading member of the Governor’s for Computer Science Initiative. The Pennsylvania Computer Science for All Summit is being coordinated to offer educators, school leaders, and stakeholders the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skillset so they can support and provide students with computer science experiences.

Just a Reminder - R2R Tech Camp Registration Open - It's going to be a great learning Experience!

The R2R Technology Camp registration is open.  Everyone at CVSD has been emailed with the links for both the camp workshop schedule and the camp registration.  I am sharing them here too.  Registration                  Workshop Schedule

The R2R camp has 25 workshops presented by educators from the Conewago Valley School district as well as guest speakers.  There is a really cool activity planned that will be going on each day of Camp.  The activity involves Goose Chase.  Each day those who participate and complete the activity will have their name put into a drawing for a certificate for one FREE year's subscription which will be drawn on the last day of camp (you do not have to be present to win).  In addition, there will be a door prize drawing at the end of each hour of camp.  I can't wait for the fun to begin.  I hope to see you there!
